Nick Millevoi of Premier Guitar writes: “A few years ago, John McLaughlin\u2019s career hung in the balance. Stricken with painful arthritis in his right hand, the famously dexterous and ambitious guitarist couldn\u2019t maintain his playing. So, he announced his retirement from live performing, offering a final tour in 2017. In Billboard<\/em>, the guitarist glumly mused: \u201cYou know, musicians never die. They just decompose. So, I\u2019m on my way.\u201d Though he went on to mention planned recording projects, he now says, \u201cI thought, \u2018Time\u2019s up,\u2019 the guitar goes under the bed, and that\u2019s it.
