Phil Johnson of London Jazz News writes: “His [John McLaughlin’s] playing, whether providing melodic lines or textural detail, is astonishingly apt, on the speed of light single note runs, chunky chords or airy synth-noodles.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Johnson adds this about Shakti’s plan for this summer: “Needless to say, McLaughlin has impressively nimble fingers for anyone, let alone an 81-year-old who until recently thought he would never tour again because of disabling arthritis. Now, instead of pipe and slippers retirement, he\u2019s about to begin a coast-to-coast U.S. tour to celebrate Shakti\u2019s 50th anniversary.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
